Maybe a Blizzard
So I tryed to get out and shovel a little bit so that I dont have to shovel alot of snow in the morning and by the time I finished the driveway, it was covered in snow again. I gave up and I decided to just go inside and watch my favorite new show cake boss.

It's Just a Phase
I really liked reading these samples. My favorite is "Hooked" due to the positive and story like tone. The writer tells the story with a adventuristic tone that made me want to know how everything worked out later for him. I like the lists of fish and locations he fished and the years of collecting equipment. The way he tells his story make him sound interesting as a person. In the sample "Innocence is Bliss" I feel like I know this Colin kid. The girl describe's things that I feel like I was there when it happened. I think my brother played on this baseball team and was friends with everyone she describes. I liked this also because it really hit home and if it really is about the person I know then everything she describes I know is true because I was there. "Once More to The Lake" is good but to me I liked the student samples better. It is written very well and very descripted but I feel like it's written to old for my age to find similarity's with it. I like how the tone of the story is exciting and then creepy in a good way. I think that it's alomost like a flashback due to the man thinking about his dad's gestures and how he prolly thought when he was the one doing things as the kid.

Man It's cold.
I went to visit the girlfriend at Purdue on Saturday and man let me tell you I thought I was going to die every time I walked outside. I had to breakout the old winter jacket and zip it up all the way to my chin that was frozen and purple. I am learning the ropes for college next year for sure. When it's winter time I am going to wear my snow pants and longs johns everyday because I don't know how long I could survive the north pole temperatures.

A night out with.
I really like the way Painting with Neil is written. I thinks it kinda funny also that he is complaining the whole time, but then will be cheering for the team the next second. It almost seems as if he doesn't really want to be there, but then he finds something that's interesting and he starts to enjoy himself without realizing it almost.
The faja paper is a sad and depressing kind of tone I feel like. I like how the scene is presented with great detail and how the dad is described and the emotion and look the dad has. I almost start to feel bad for the guy as I read through it. I think A Practiced Grace is good and I like the descriptions. I like how it's written to where it's like your really bored and you begin to notice every single detail of what's around you.

I'm out of shape!
I decided to go play basketball with my intramural team yesterday and let me tell you I was sucking wind. I felt like my chest was about to explode. I'm the guy that passes the ball or fouls because I cant shoot to save my life. My shot is so far off that I usually just say it was a pass for the person who rebounds it. I still had a good time with the guys though, but I need to hit the treadmill or something to get the cardio up before the seas. starts.

After reading both of "Ground Zero," by Suzanne Berne, and "The Way to Rainy Mountain," by N. Scott Momaday I would conclude that both essays describe a place full of emptiness due to tragedy. In "Ground Zero," the confused and mournful looks that visitor's have cemented on their faces suggests the impact that a tragedy like September 11th has on a person. The anxious tone suggests a person's hunger to discover for them selves what had happened on September 11th and what was lost. The description's of people from all over the world standing behind police barriers helps describe the impact on everyone and the longing for some kind of proof that what they saw happen on tv was actually real. The people had to image it for them to get past what had happened on that day of terror. In "The Way to Rainy Mountain," the historical uneasiness exemplifies the tragedy that was forced upon the Kiowas Tribe. The old landmark of Rainy Mountain was the land that the Kiowas were stripped and forced from by their old friends and the soldiers at Fort Sill. All they had left was their lives. The depressed tone sums up the feelings that the Kiowas felt and lived. The attitude of longing to really see the land that was described by the grandmother causes the granddaughter to set out on a pilgrimage to see for herself the place of tragedy and cultural destruction.
